Nya Turer Kring Slipknot!

Sångaren Corey Taylor och trummisen Joey Jordison uttalar sig var och varannan dag om Slipknots framtid som band. Olyckligtvis säger det inte samma saker utan deras svar skiljer sig en del åt. För någon dag sedan sa Corey detta i en intervju under engelska Sonisphere-festivalen:

"It's really soon, it's really too soon to tell. I mean, we're all still kind of dealing with it. I've just now kind of started talking about it. Obviously, he was honored the other night at the Kerrang! Awards with the ['Services To Metal'] award, which I thought was great, because he really was... I mean, not only was he just such a big part of my life, but he was the spirit of SLIPKNOT; he wrote most of the music. Not a lot of people know that, so I've really been trying to get the word out about him and give him the recognition that he deserves."

"As far the future [of SLIPKNOT is concerned], like I said, it's really soon to tell. None of us can even fathom what to do yet. But as soon as we do, the world will be the first to know. It's not that we don't want to, it's just like, how do you do what makes sense when such a big piece of that puzzle is gone?"

"To me, I'm kind of fortunate that I have STONE SOUR to concentrate on. And I've been able to work some stuff out. Plus, me and my wife have been taking care of [Paul's] family right now. But, I mean, we'll just have to wait and see."

Känns inte helt 100 % säkert att det kommer bli en ny skiva.

Samma dag säger Joey i en intervju med The Pulse Of The Radio detta:

"There will be no other bass players besides Jim [Root, guitarist], Mick [Thomson, guitarist] and me, more than likely"

"Everyone actually kind of plays guitar in the band, so I think we're all gonna play bass on the record. We're not gonna have anyone come in. But live, we'll deal with that when it comes."

Här verkar det 100 % säkert att en skiva kommer.

Idag pratade Joey med samma radiokanal igen och sa detta:

"Shawn (Crahan) just came out, the 'Clown,' he just came out to the Mayhem festival, and we sat down and we talked and we're starting to map out the game plan right now," he said. "So there is another SLIPKNOT record already kinda in the making. You know, we're getting timelines set and, you know, it's gonna be a little bit but there's definitely another record. Paul would always want us to make another record. He wouldn't want the band to stop — SLIPKNOT was his life."

Varför kan inte bandet enas om en linje de ska hålla angående bandets framtid? Planerar resten av bandet en skiva medan Corey håller på med Stone Sour? Kan det vara så att Corey sörjer Paul fortfarande medan resten av bandet vill börja köra igen?

Det sista ordet rörande Slipknots framtid är troligtvis inte yttrat men det var skönt att höra att det inte blir någon ersättare till Paul. I alla fall inte enligt Joey.
